In my dream yesterday, there was a girl, who was like a combination of [livejournal.com profile] gentle_gamer, [livejournal.com profile] dv_girl, and [livejournal.com profile] maradydd (with a bit of Jeri Ellsworth thrown in). So she was a blue-haired bioinformaticist transsexual who worked for NASA; and I was wondering in the dream why I wasn't dating her.

Wow. It's been a long damn time since I worked for NASA. (And really it was more of a "will work for food and transportation to/from really inhospitable places" kind of deal.)

Alas, it was still on Earth, though not exactly easy to get to. (Zoom in for spiffy meteor-impact-crater coolness. I so wish we'd had Google Maps back in 1999.)

Actually, it might be worth checking out Devon Island for traces of human habitation; it's a cold polar desert, which means almost no precipitation -- 23-million-year-old impact crater, no sand to speak of -- which means there's probably some footprint (though fifteen scientists don't leave anywhere near the footprint of, say, Black Rock City). If you find something that looks like a mockup Mars habitat, that would be the one we sited the summer I was out there.

That's what I was thinking.

"Will work for transportation to outer space."

Hrm. Now I want to go stand outside the gates to Cape Canaveral with a cardboard sign that says that.

Heh. I thought she meant me. I was on the Gravity Probe B mission. ;)

I guess I'm also the blue-haired.

BTW Julia, how is the current dye job holding out?

Ok, she most likely meant you, then. My mere bioinformaticism and I bow before your weightlessness. :)

Wow. I could use guest stars like that in my dreams from time to time.
