Do I really want to get dressed up, drive an hour up to the city, and pay $40, to not drink, not dance (much), not be able to hold a conversation with anyone at less than shouting at the top of my lungs, not meet anyone new, and (possibly) take photos which I won't have time to touch again for several months? (I don't actually have any empty memory cards right now, because I have not had enough time and disk space to dump the current data off of them.) Then stay up really late, and get even more tired, and try to drive back to the south bay without falling asleep. Spend all day tomorrow recovering, and then go back up to SF for the next party tomorrow night. I know it's a fundraiser, and I'd be supporting the camp and such, but I could just send them the money, and not drive to SF and back. But also I have a special place in my heart for the Serpent Mother (it really is awesome), and I am tempted to go, just for that.

Maybe I'm just depressed…

I find that have much more fun at the small underground psytrance parties, than at the large drunken dance parties.

This is a repost of the Bootie 3-Year Anniversary Pirate Ball from two years ago. Back then, [livejournal.com profile] jwz asked for copies of these for the DNA Lounge web site. Hopefully I'm not too late… I'm experimenting with using DXO to reduce the amount of noise on these, but for the moment, this set I'm still processing like usual in Lightroom2. The DXO Integration with Lightroom is far less integral than I was lead to believe. Also, again with the: What color should this be? post-processing.

I'm rather fascinated by how my photographic style has changed over the years. Though, I think I'm a lot better now.

“But wait, won't that create a silhouette?”

“Trust me, I know what I'm doing.”

DNA Lounge: MEAT Year 5
As I was saying to [livejournal.com profile] dymaxion while taking these photos; I feel like these photos are all starting to look the same. She said that, the subject matter might say something about my lifestyle; Also that to expand my artistic talents, I should try to do the opposite style — Black and white, out of focus, landscape photography… My first thought to achieve all three is to slap a 1100nm-700nm bandpass filter on my lens; I'll need direct sunlight, and none of my lenses work correctly in that range. blah blah, more stuff goes here... so so sleepy now... http://www.dnalounge.com/flyers/2007/02/15-meat.html http://www.meatsf.com/
