How to keep a cat entertained for hours
Nov. 11th, 2008 10:39 pmSo, I'm cat-sitting for some friends of mine, and the kitty wants attention, lots and lots of attention. And I don't have hours and hours to spend playing with this cat. I've been taking it out for short walks in the morning, when it's not raining. And playing with him late at night. I've discovered that his favorite toys so far are: Paper Bags, Small Boxes, and Balls of Aluminum Foil. He also likes to play tag, but I'm not that interested in chasing him around the house for very long.
So, Is there anything that doesn't takes lots of time but will keep a kitty happy?

May. 31st, 2008 08:41 pmWhen I do batch postings like this, I should really try to get the parts to come out in order. If you haven't noticed, I usually try to post my favorites first, and also try to keep the number of photos in a single post to under a hundred.

Unsorted Photos from May 2008 [Part 4]
May. 31st, 2008 08:41 pmTechnical note: I'm experimenting with using Imagemagick to generate these small (250x376) photos from the larger JPGs. This is because Adobe Lightroom is really, really, really slow when exporting to JPG from raw. It looks like all of the EXIF and IPTC metadata is intact — which is good — but there's a subtible colour shift between the large and small files, and so I think that the ICC profile is getting stripped. (Of course most people won't notice any of this, but I'm an obsessive perfectionist. Also I'm still doing all of my stuff a the "Mac" gamma of 1.8, not the "PC" gamma of 2.2, so everything is probable too dark for most of you.)

May. 31st, 2008 08:17 pmLooking back through my older photos, and my current ones; It's interesting to see how my style has evolved over time. I prefer the way it is now rather than before.
