[Non-]Spontaneous Combustion
The other day, I think as Nyah was trying to bite me or something, she mentioned that she wanted to spontaneously combust... but then after a minute she said that it couldn't really be spontaneous combustion, because she had previously stated her intention to do so — the combustion would have been too planned out to be spontaneous. She asked me if it would be possible to calculate when a big pile of hay would spontaneously combust; we could bring a bunch of hay with us to Burning Man next year, and time things just right for it to set itself on fire sometime during the week.
Killer Bees
On my first day at Burning Man this year, I was hanging out with Nicole ([livejournal.com profile] nicoletbn I think) — a really awesome girl I had just met — and she had expressed surprise at seeing a dragonfly, or bee within the previous few days. And I said that the bees were probably here visiting the lush vegetation out on the playa; And next year I should bring some bee hives... and wasps. We could replace the dust storms here with giant clouds of killer bees! Or maybe just fill a tent with some, as an art project.
Frying Man
Nyah was talking about building a dome with a (hidden) upstairs floor, so that people could hide in the ceiling, and the drop down on the people below - unawares. It sounded like a very lost-boys thing to do. I forgot the intermediate thoughts that lead to me conceiving of "Frying Man" — something about a floor/room with slippery sides, that people couldn't get out of.
"Frying Man": people would climb into a giant greased frying pan, where a giant magnifying lens would focus the suns rays onto them.

Nyah didn't want to come up with any new bad ideas for projects, after I had told her that I wanted to make a LiveJournal post about it. She found it absurd to have a conversation, solely for the purpose to be able to tell other people about some cool conversation you had had with someone else. (So now, of course I have to tell everyone about this.)

What are your bad ideas for Burning Man 2007?

Bad ideas for burning man are good. It helps at least this writer to clear out some of the fearful thoughts that I might actually slip into that pan, or be scared to death by someone dropping on my head or at my feet. True, unlikely. But I've found a good way to avoid nightmares is to daydream them instead. You can quote me to N about this. More bad ideas are a good idea.

Alright, I'll try one. I was thinking of a lemonade bath but giving away the lemonade for people to drink. True recycling what do you think?
