I saw a wild fox last night! In Rockville, after I had taken a wrong turn trying to get to I-270. It was very definitely a red fox, doing very foxy things. Yay! First one I've ever seen not in a zoo. (There were two other foxes in California that I think I have seen, but they were greyish and might have been very small coyotes.)

Went to the Smithsonian Museum Yesterday with my father. Looked at the mineral collection and stuff.




Accidentally stayed up all night fixing helen99's Linux box. Her white-fluffy kitty – whom I forgot the name of – slept next to me all morning. When I awoke, there was a beam of sunlight shinning through the window onto her – curled up on top of me. (Didn't have my camera at hand however.)

Ok, NOW I am going to drive up to Pittsburgh. I should be at Anthrocon in time for the parties/dances.

There are some foxes that live in the woods near John's parents' house. They've been putting out food on a regular enough basis that whichever fox is tending the food trail that night will sometimes be out there waiting for it -- and there's a really nice view from the upstairs window.
