No room at the Inn...

There was no room at the Inn last night, so I had to stay in kitten_goddess's Manger. (Not that I minded of course (details later...))

Every single Hotel, Motel, and Inn for a twenty mile radius around DC/Maryland is completely sold out right now.

What's going on there? I highly doubt it's AC selling them all out. xD

There were a large number of tour buses at most of them; So at first we suspected sports teams — this was near University Park. A bunch of college sports teams coming in for... a big-group-thingy-with-lots-of-teams. (I really don't know that much about sport). That and large crowds of people visiting to watch whatever was going on. But as we drove further and further away, the hotels didn't get any emptier, and there were still large tour buses at most of them.

I asked one of the hotel clerks, and he said that this always happens during this time of year. [Implication: It's tourist season.]
