It looks so easy in the comic books. This lifestyle of, mild-mannered office worker by day, and crime-fighting superhero by night, is really wearing me down.

Yeah, they never show Supergirl having to call in sick because of radiation poisoning or Wonder Woman being unable to keep her eyes open after smiting wrongdoers all night. Damn.

Clearly you need to find some grief-stricken kid with bad PTSD from having lost his parents, and take him on as a sidekick.

Yeah, definitely pick up a side-kick, or a few robots. Let them deal with the laundry and the dishes and washing the foxmobile.

depends on which comics you read. Many of the less (or non) "super" heros have continuous problems with it. Look at Batman (constantly injured), or DareDevil (lost his license to practice law, addicted to pain killers), you could also consider the fact that superman has worked as a low level reporter at the Daily Planet for how many years without ever being promoted a sign that they aren't so thrilled with his work. Spiderman is always poor and frequently out of work. None of them can maintain relationships for any real length of time due to their obsessions. The Incredible Hulk has to live as a wanderer because people tend to notice when you turn green and destroy everything around you.

It seems to require two things-
1. a rediculously good constitution (which few people have at the level required for heros)
2. a willingness to accept punishment and abuse of your physical health in the name of achieving your goals. Having done this one, I know it is possible and you can do great things but you will pay for it.

If you want to be a real superhero by night, get some better drugs and start using them to prop yourself up. That's how all the other heros do it. ;)

sorry, didn't realize
