Faerieworlds 2008These photos are basically as-is from the camera (aside from a NEF to JPG conversion). I haven't had time to do my regular white-balance and exposure correction stuff, nor to add metadata to the XMP/IPTC tags. I wanted to get some of them posted soon, as I know some people are looking for these, and I want to keep making forward progress.D700, photo, August 2008, Veneta, Oregon, CA, Faerieworlds, Faeries, Fairies, FairyJulia WolfJulia Wolfimage/jpeg2008

This set of photos, I picked because I think they're some of the better ones.
I've been feeling rather uninterested in photography for the last few months (was going to write a LJ post about that). But I feel like I have my passion back again. I've bought some new photographic gear (used here) for Burning Man. Faerieworlds was basically a photographic dry-run for Burning Man.
I was almost laying down on the ground in order to take that shot. Both the little girl, and the dragon girl were shorter than me. By shooting the photo from below, you can make people and things look a lot taller than they are. (Also it generally removes anything from the background except for sky or featureless ceiling.) I actually had this shot in mind though — depicting the little girl looking up at the dragon — so I was dropping lower and lower to the ground until I got this composition.
You are an incredible artist with enormous talent and an eye for just the right angle and light and and and! So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. <3!
I have always hated profile pics of me, but somehow you made them look good!!! Can't wait to see more:) While I was at Faerieworlds unfortunately my domain name expired, I've renewed it but don't know how much longer it will take to show up again but supposedly it should be today. So, if you tried to send an email to my fancyfairy.com address on the business card it may have bounced back. You can always email me at borisang@pacbell.net, and the other one should be back in order later today. Again, you are a fantastic photographer! I'll be checking your page to see what else shows up:) ~Angela www.fancyfairy.com

p.s. Pretty wild how you and lionmage were already well acquainted. Small world, and all that.
