Weekend Plans

Ok, so I can jump on a plane tonight or tomorrow and fly out to GAIAN MIND SUMMER FESTIVAL. If I was going to drive out, I'd have needed to have already started two days ago — and I don't have the time with crazy work deadlines. I've been dithering on going so much, that plane tickets are now about ~$600 to the DC area, and ~$700 to the Pittsburgh area. Plus $145 for registration; and ~$100 for a rental car or something. Also, the site where the event is held, also seems to have an outbreak of the Norwalk virus or something, so I just have to do the burner-thing of bringing all of my drinking and washing/bathing water onto the site with me. And I'm still kinda a tiny bit ill from this whatever I've had for the last two weeks.

…Not that any of this has ever stopped me…

If I took next week off, I could visit friends on the East Coast, and then go to Anthrocon next weekend. (Which means that I'd miss San Francisco LGBT Pride.) If I fly back Sunday or Monday, that only really gives me a day or two at Gaian Mind, and an almost equal amount of time sitting on airplanes or driving around. Which is not very relaxing.

I can't really telecommute right now, because I'm currently building another server farm at work (it's a small simulation of the Internet.) So I'd get another week behind on stuff at work.

If I stay in the Bay Area, there are several parties I could attend:
feyandstrange and digitalsidhe's Housewarming party (Sat. Jun 21 19:00-)
Kallisticon, and tyrsalvia and metaphorge's Housecooling party (Sat. Jun 21 21:00-)
veleda's Solstice ritual, and Burning Man thingy, the web site is down, it's supposed to be here: http://www.temple08.com/AwakeningSun.html And the party is apparently on (Fri. Jun 20 19:30-)
And then veedub is teaching a class on Feri tomorrow (Fri Jun 20 19:00-), and wants me to show up to help teach the newbies.

I think that's it… other than the zillions of other things in my personal life I have to attend to.

What are you doing July 4th weekend dear? I'll be in the bay area for a gathering of TF fans, and I'm going to make them get over to San Francisco at least one day.

On July 4th itself, I'm most likely going to be up in San Francisco at veedub's house. (Or at least in the evening. I'm probably free all day before that.)

Officially just a year and a half (and then there's some UPG stuff that took place before that). So I don't really know a lot of lore, and I'm not that well practiced, but I know enough to help out the people just starting now.

I'm going to Strasbourg, France this weekend. Old beauty and a music festival. Mmmmm French food! It will be good to be in a country where I speak the language too. German ugh.

Only very tangentially related, I've finally figured out what I kept messing up on that one project I was working on and now have complete success. Results are coming out crystal clear now. :)

I would be tempted to crash the BM thing but I probably should spend the time working on my wind turbine for BM. I'm falling behind where I'd like to be in my schedule. :)

If you were asking about Rocky Horror. It was down here. They're doing it again tomorrow in downtown San Jose but I must admit once is probably enough for me for this weekend.

We decided to make an evening of it and watched Mongol prior to RHPS. Those two films are about as far opposite as earthly possible.

I'm glad you feel better, and it was good to see you today looking more than well compared to what read just now in earlier posts.

I'm considering going to the 4th at veedub's but I might get roped into helping out for our own event. I have no idea what's going to happen. If I had $$$ I'd be out of the country right now. But that's not possible.
