I'm sitting in the Shopping/Eating area of Heathrow Airport, Terminal 1. It turns out that there really is no security-zone purgatory for arriving international passengers. I could have jumped on the Underground and explored London for three hours. It took me about an hour to get from Terminal 4 to 1 (, and get through security and everything). Maybe I'll do that next time I'm here — I mean the time after next time, since I'm only here for about an hour on the return flight.

I'll post some more later, my laptop battery is running low, and I only have a power cord for US and Germany (not UK). (And I don't want to buy a converter from one of the many stores encircling me.)

I'm still not sure where I'm going to sleep tonight in Berlin. I'll improvise something.

Meanwhile, Here's a new poll!

I hope you can speak German! I'm worried about you wandering around Berlin in the middle of the night with nowhere to sleep.

My first though was Eek! But then I realized that it should be easy to find a decent hotel from the airport, even if you don't feel up to speaking german by the time you arrive.

Oh, and I second the vote for pomegranate.

Take a look and see if you can get to Copenhagen without trouble.

I live in Malmo, which is across the strait there.

The mere presence of a "Commander Taco" option made me literally laugh out loud (okay, chuckle out loud).

One of the cool things about Germany is that most people speak some degree of English too.

'Commander Taco?'

Anywho my vote's for burnt marshmallow...mmmm....

And your such a nerd, postin' in the airport lol :-p :) Don't get too concerned hon, there are a ton of places and the German people are really friendly, you should be fine (if you've got internet just do a quick search for hostels or student housing, because like alot of places in Europe they are far cheaper than hotels and there are dozens of them around).

Too bad you didn't have mouth blistering curry... It's yellow, albeit a deep yellow.

Unfortunately, there's no way I can get out there.

I can help with times, prices and such, though. There is international booking and info on such.

My phone number is in an earlier message, if you need to call me.
