I was laying in bed, trying to get to sleep, when I realized that I hadn't… so I got up to do just that… and to write this reply now.

Probably a cliche question, but ...

This is the kind of thing that science fiction fans probably think of all the time in regards to Ren Faire, but the picture of the ATM's got me to wondering how you would explain the anachronisms to a time traveler from back then. And how many other things would such a person find odd? The big soap bubbles? Signs that almost everybody was expected to be able to read? Modern standards of cleanliness? Other?

And if someone were to hand us a set of images of some group five or six hundred years hence trying to re-create the turn of our millennium, what would we find odd about them? Of course we have no real way of knowing, but can we speculate?

My husband and I missed this years faire. :( I'm still bummed about it. :/
