Actually, I couldn't tell until you pointed it out. I saw the one really good picture of you in the black shirt, and didn't think the above picture was you because they had a green shirt. Didn't know the rave was a multi-day affair. =^.^=
I am officially in envy of your photo composition skills. I occasionally try to take artistic photos — usually landscapes — and once in a while I even manage it, but you seem to hit the mark more often than not.
Of all the photos of subcultural gatherings I've seen you post, this one is at least the most visually fun. What is Symbiosis? 'Cuz now I really wanna go!
<3<3 Symbiosis is a tribal "healing" gathering that happens once a year now out here in California. It's centered around the psychadelic/hippy culture to give the short of it and I think it is a colaboration of a few different party groups from Austrailia and San Francisco. Very free, very open, very loving, very artistic and VERY ENERGETIC vibe. Last year it was held in a gorgeous redwood forest setting. This year it was more green trees than piney =) You'll usually see very animal based/tribal costume, live bands, and tons of GOOD electronica. This year the headliners were X-Dream, Hallucinogen, Psylab, Ott, and Shpongle <3<3 Dunno if you've heard of them, but they're coo.
I know someone who's not on your flist who'd love to see those, so if you make a public version I'll point her to it. I know how you feel about the time vs. el j thing.... wish I had more of both. :-)
It's public now. Actually, I don't know how many people realize this, but I have no access control set at all on these directories where I'm hosting to pictures. So you can just goto: http://www.arclight.net/~julia/lj/2006_Sep/Symbiosis/p http://www.arclight.net/~julia/lj/2006_Sep/Symbiosis/l And access all of these photos that way. I haven't had time to look at the access logs, so I have no idea if anyone ever does this. Eventually I'll upload full-sized versions somewhere; I'm considering just putting them in the LJ-Gallery-Thingy, but that takes so much time. (Hmm.. still need to fix the metadata on some of the stuff I uploaded there already...)
May I link to this in my own journal? I want people to see them!
Ok, go ahead.
Someday, I'll be able to take a day off, just for picture management. And I'll upload the full-sized images into the LJ gallery or something. I barely have time to read LJ as it is... let alone post. I need to finish up some work for my employer today, then pack, and drive down to San Diego for ToorCon tomorrow...

Not even sure why...
That and all the backlit-umbrella's would make wonderful computer wallpapers. =^.^=
Re: Not even sure why...
You do realize... that's me up in that tree.
Re: Not even sure why...
Statement still stands though. :-)

I really like the stars and the sap-dripping pictures the most.
Very cool. Looks like it was a lot of fun.
